No Pain, No Gain.

by

The TaleWagger.

I rack my brain for an answer, but the constant droning of the same old voice numbs me to the core.

I close my eyes in an attempt to find a safer world. A world without the constant questioning ... the never ending questions.

One after another, on and on ...

and the bright lights! Those damn lights!

Coming from all directions ... burning my eyes, my face, my very soul! Is there no escape?

My lips are dry. I'm almost gone and he knows it but he's determined to prolong the torment.

With a smile, borne more of habit than from sympathy, he offers me more time and a sip of water and repeats the question!

I'm desperately in need of help but he offers none; he never does!

This is his job. Sadist!

Questions, questions, questions but help? NEVER!

Damn it! I really, really, really need help.

My brain screams out 'HELP ME! HELP ME!'

For God's sake, somebody help me!

With I live to enjoy tomorrow? Has he no mercy?

Somebody help me!!!

'A friend in need is a friend indeed.' I could do with one now!

But will one be enough?

No!

I think I need to ask the audience!
