CHARLIE BRITTAIN, AUTHOR Charlie Brittain lives to write and would dearly love to write to live. Charlie has been scribbling all her life and has lots of ideas, mainly for novels, for teenagers and for mainstream adult fiction. To date, Charlie has written three novels for teenagers and pre-teenagers (of both sexes) about footballer Ollie Paine, the first of which ("Glory!") appears in the Children's Section of TALESetc.com. Charlie has also written numerous short stories and at present is working on a novel (for grown-ups) about women football supporters. Charlie writes about real life as she sees it. Although she likes to use allegory, fantasy (as per Terry Pratchett) is not her thing. Her other interests are football, computers and cats, and she writes about all of them, but human relationships are what make Charlie's stories really work. In another life, Charlie teaches IT and Key Skills in college, and also writes assignments and course materials. Although Charlie originally hailed from the English Midlands, she lives in Essex with her husband, two teenage children and two cats. Charlie Brittain can be contacted at: bluecity_uk@yahoo.co.uk
