Writer's Profile Ruth Houston Ruth Houston has always had an interest in writing; she wrote her first stories while at Primary school. In 1968, her first 'journalistic' effort, an article about her village through the eyes of a grandmother, was published in the local newspaper. During her years of living in South Africa, she had several short stories published in magazines, and, for two years, she was the editor of her church newsletter. Recently, she became part of a postal writing workshop and enjoys it very much. In Chester, England, she is a member of the Media Network at her church and has an interest in writing for both secular and Christian readers; she recently submitted some 'devotions' to the Upper Room publication in America.
